Asset Recoveries resulting from Auto Accidents

Police reports, which identify property damage to your city, will be assigned to a licensed adjuster of CityWide Subrogation.  An investigation will be conducted to document and establish liability, in accordance to state statutes.  This may include, but is not limited to, recorded statement of all parties and pertinent witnesses, inspection of the damaged city property, photographs taken, and a detailed estimate prepared to fairly compensate your city for their damages, using a “big picture approach”.

Next, the licensed adjuster will file a claim with the negligent parties’ insurance company.  The licensed claims professional will utilize their insurance experience to negotiate and collect these damages while having claims settlement authority.  Upon collection, CityWide Subrogation will forward the settlement checks made payable to your city and will issue a billing invoice monthly for their contingency fee.  These damages will be collected on a contingency basis and will not require utilization of any city assets or an increase in your current budget.

Fire Department Service Charge Recoveries

The first prong of this service deals with  recovering fire department service runs, from insurance carriers of its Oklahoma citizens, who have incurred an "in town” and “out of town”  structure fire run.   This service provides the recovery of available “fire department service charge coverage” available under almost all homeowners/ renters insurance policies for in and out of town fire runs on structure fires.  This coverage is included in most homeowners/ renters policies and is earmarked solely for this purpose, and is not currently being sought by most cities.  By recovering this ”earmarked coverage”, commonly, $500.00, it will help your city defray the costs of these runs and assist in providing a revenue stream for items that may currently be budgeted.  In order to lawfully recover such,  a small change to the existing fire ordinances may need to be made to shift this burden.

The second prong, which we feel strongly we can also recover, is the fire department response charges the city incurs when responding and offering aid to auto accidents.  Let’s face facts, fire engines are extremely expensive, and have a shorter life expectancy when they are constantly responding to auto accidents caused by negligent drivers; given the mileage, maintenance, and depreciation costs, which is not even factoring in the salary and benefit costs of the fire fighters themselves.  The negligent party (tortfeasor) in the accident is not presently having their insurance carrier billed for the fire department response services; which your city is providing as a result of the Tortfeasor's negligence, for which they are covered.  The great thing about this is, unlike the homeowners policy,  there will be no cap on the charges, other than the liability limits themselves. The auto coverage will be pursued under the “liability portion” of the tortfeasors policy.
